Nick Jacobsen was asked what did you like most about the iconic BIG HQ building? and this is what I say…
Below we show you what Nick Jacobsen said for the Northkb blog…you can see the original interview here
How did you find setting up your kite?
Riding and launching the kite was the main challenge. When I had permission to jump, I immediately entered the research process. I could choose any wind direction I wanted. The northeasterly winds were the best, as it would be a nice, soft, stable wind coming off the ocean, without any obstacles to get in the way.
When placing my lines, we noticed that I had almost no space above that ceiling. So, we had to launch the kite with slack lines and just waiting for the kite to catch wind before the lines got caught on different things coming up from the ground.
As soon as the kite was flying overhead, it was a huge relief. From that moment on the rest was a walk in the park.
What did you like most about the iconic BIG HQ building?
What I like most about this building is its location. I’ve been kitesurfing in the area a few times and always thought it would be great to fly off one of these buildings one day.
The architecture is quite amazing. The attention to detail is next level. As you walk inside the building, there are little things that constantly catch your attention. A work of art.
How did you feel that day with the jump?
I felt very good after the jump. I wasn’t very happy with my first descent, so I decided to skip it again. After my second jump, I ran home to pick up my son from daycare.
